Lisson Gallery is pleased to be participating for the first time in artmonte-carlo, now in its eighth edition. The gallery will be showcasing a selection of work from their roster of artists, including Christopher Le Brun, Tony Cragg, Ryan Gander, Carmen Herrera, Hiroshi Sugimoto, Yu Hong, Anish Kapoor, Laure Prouvost and Wael Shawky, among others.

In conjunction with the artist’s first exhibition at Lisson Gallery New York (on show until 2 August), Hiroshi Sugimoto presents Opticks 559 (2023) at Lisson Gallery’s artmonte-carlo booth, from his series of large-scale photographic prints which rely on a prism to split ‘white’ light into its seven constituent colours and many more gradations and shades in between. In addition, Anish Kapoor’s blue-coloured mirror work, entitled Oriental Blue to Clear (2023) is exhibited, alongside Yu Hong’s Brothers and Ran Away (both 2018), which construct modern-day fables and complex, allegorical compositions by channeling historical, narrative-driven art through a fiercely contemporary lens.
