Sol LeWitt
Open Geometric Structures: Five Geometric Structures and Their Combinations
$460
On special offer during Printed Matter Virtual Art Book Fair is this original printing of Sol LeWitt: Open Geometric Structures: Five Geometric Structures and Their Combinations, 1979 published by Lisson Gallery.
This artist's publication charts 25 possible combinations of LeWitt’s work, Five Open Geometric Structures (1979), which are constructed from sections of wood in three-dimensional extrapolations of the two-dimensional figures of a square, a triangle, a rectangle, a trapezoid and a parallelogram. In groups numbering 1 to 5, this book looks at multiple possible permutations of the five individual forms when presented together in non-sequential rows, resulting in a progression of relationships and juxtapositions that create an ordering system for the work. For more information see related text on the piece in Tate’s collection.
Illustrated with black-and-white photographs by John Hilliard. Without text.
