Screening now: Gerard Byrne's 'Jielemeguvvie guvvie sjisjnjeli [Film Inside an Image]'

Gerard Byrne's 2015 film Jielemeguvvie guvvie sjisjnjeli [Film Inside an Image], screening from 18 – 25 May, is the next film on view as part of our Spotlight Screenings programme, showcasing full-length artist-made film and video. Shot at the Biologiska Museet (Biological Museum) in Stockholm, Sweden, Byrne’s work presents a virtual, cinematic vision of nature by considering the museum’s format of a 360° diorama lit only by daylight in relation to the beginnings of photography, creating frozen images with light.
