'Marina Abramović: between breath and fire' at gres art 671, Bergamo, Italy

18 September 2024

'Marina Abramović: between breath and fire' is now open at gres art 671, a new contemporary art and culture hub in Bergamo, Italy.

The exhibition, curated by Karol Winiarczyk, integrates not only Marina Abramović’s performance work, but also her latest research into the use of new materials and different formats.

More than 30 works touch on the key themes that have marked the Abramović’s 50-year career – breath, body, the relationship with the other, and death. This presentation also celebrates the artist's fascination with opera, in particular her passion for singer Maria Callas, manifested in the immersive cinematic experience 'Seven Deaths' that explores the untimely demises of seven operatic protagonists, set to Maria Callas’s solos.

'Marina Abramović: between breath and fire' runs from 14 September 2024 to 16 February 2025. Find further information via gres art 671.
