London Gallery weekend begins Friday 4 June
3 June 2021
This weekend marks the first annual London Gallery Weekend – a grassroots initiative developed to harness the energy of the London gallery scene. A first for the UK capital, this democratic, peer-led initiative represents a future-facing art landscape which embraces the community and mutual support of a diverse London gallery network. Over a dynamic three-day public event, which is free to attend, LGW will host a rich public programme of discussions, studio visits, children's events, late openings and performances across the city, produced by participating galleries. A VIP programme of events designed for curators and collectors will run alongside.
Lisson Gallery's three London spaces – with exhibitions by Julian Opie on Cork Street in Mayfair; by John Akomfrah on Lisson Street; and with group show 'An Infinity of Traces' on Bell Street – will remain open until 8pm on Friday 4 June for LGW's Central London focus. The spaces will also be open from 11am – 6pm on Saturday, and 11am – 5pm on Sunday.
