Haroon Mirza customises Rega Planar 1/1 turntables for Secret 7" in support of Help Refugees

For the final edition of Secret 7”, Haroon Mirza takes part in the event Planar 1/1. Marking the end of a seven year project annually producing limited edition records for charity, Mirza is among the fifteen artists given an open brief to rework a set of Rega Planar 1 turntables to be sold at auction. All proceeds of this year’s Secret 7”, including one-of-a-kind records and specially created work from a line up of world renowned artists, will go to partner charity Help Refugees. Mirza’s take on the classic Rega Planar 1 incorporates elements of light - a conflation of technology and the art object that recalls Brion Gysin and William Burroughs’ famous Dreamachine.

The auction will take place via livestream on 12 November, and registration is already open for pre-bids with The Auction Collective. Bids can be placed over the phone; with absentee bids; or via the livestream at 19.00 GMT.
