Experience Haroon Mirza's 'Dancing with the Unknown' in Copenhagen
14 February 2018
'Haroon Mirza: Dancing with the Unknown' opens at Nikolaj Kunsthal, a former church turned contemporary arts institution in Copenhagen, Denmark. The exhibition features three installations that utilise the architecture of the building; for instance, by illuminating the arches between the nave and the side aisles. The installation /\/\/\ /\/\/\ Feat. Tim Burgess & Nik Void is an immersive sound and light work featuring four projections and 12 speakers standing apart, in which a mystical atmosphere is mixed with a more aseptic, elaborate technological structure. Also part of the work is a lightproof and soundproof chamber that visitors can disappear into – to experience a jet of water amplified by both light and sound.
The exhibit also includes 'Light Light Light'—a new work made specifically for the space in which solar cells are activated by light entering through the building's gothic windows.
"Dancing with the Unknown' is on view through 13 May. Read more here.
