'Art & Language: Locus (Non) Solus' at Château de Montsoreau, Montsoreau, France
31 May 2023
A new exhibition by Art & Language opened on 2 May at Chateau de Montsoreau, the museum housing the world's largest permanent collection of works by Art & Language.
Named after Raymond Roussel's novel Locus Solus, in which the protagonist invites guests to visit his country estate's park to discover surrealist scientific inventions from a time machine to a device to resurrect the dead. Playing with words and language, boxes, mirrors, Art & Language practice meet the fictional universe of Raymond Rousseau for a serendipitous presentation. Taking visitors for a walk throughout the show, 'Locus (Non) Solus' replicates the experience narrated in the eponymous novel, to discover the literary and artistic universe of both artists.
The exhibition runs from 2 May to 30 June 2023.
