'Art in Stone' featuring Anish Kapoor at La Pedrera-Casa Milà, Barcelona, Spain

Until 2 February 2025, La Pedrera-Casa Milà presents 'Art in Stone', featuring works by Anish Kapoor. The exhibition highlights the late works of eight historically significant sculptors born between the late 19th and early 20th centuries: Hans Arp, Louise Bourgeois, Eduardo Chillida, Naum Gabo, Barbara Hepworth, Henry Moore, Isamu Noguchi, and Jorge Oteiza. The artists followed parallel artistic journeys, often exploring new forms of expression through stone. The exhibition showcases their shared points of convergence and the innovative approaches that redefined sculpture in their time.

Apart from these abstract works, which will enter into a deep dialogue with La Pedrera, a complementary section allows us to see that the "pioneers" of modern sculpture - Anish Kapoor, Stephen Cox, Luciano Fabro, Barry Flanagan, Cristina Iglesias, Ettore Spalletti and Alison Wilding, and the stone has inspired new conceptual ways of working. Organised by the Fundació Catalunya La Pedrera, this exhibition celebrates the iconic stone structure of Casa Milà—popularly known as La Pedrera—designed by Antoni Gaudí.
