Anish Kapoor charity print in support of Migrate Art
2 December 2021
Lisson Gallery is proud to promote a new, limited edition print by Anish Kapoor for Migrate Art—an arts charity whose mission is to unite the art world by raising funds for grass-roots charity partners specialising in the rehabilitation of displaced people.
On a trip to refugee camps in Kurdistan in July 2019, Migrate Art witnessed the vast black crop fields throughout the area, purposefully burnt by ISIS fighters. The organisations brought back some of the fields' ash and it to a number of the world’s best artists to use as inspiration to create new work. Kapoor's original painting ‘Scorched Earth’ included some of the ash and was the artist's response to this poignant story.
This new polymer gravure etching is based on the artist's original painting, and will be available for sale at 5pm GMT Thursday 2nd December via the Migrate Art website.
Migrate Art collaborates with the world's most significant contemporary artists to raise money for displaced and homeless communities across the globe.
